Mixing the medical with the medium: asking for medical advice in readings

During psychic medium readings most clients want to talk about love, money, relationships and career. But there is a topic that has been popping up in several of my readings lately, and that is health.

In the past I have tried to avoid this topic like the plague…..no pun intended.

For starters I am not a doctor and I am not qualified to be treating or diagnosing medical conditions. Furthermore, talking about someone’s health can cause them to overthink and worry ...bringing up a potentially new health concern….anxiety.

You see, providing health information during a reading is an extremely delicate process and I would rather avoid giving that information; however, the information that comes through is not up to me… it is up to spirit and lately they have had other plans.

I could just ignore it or not deliver the messages to the client but I know that is not the ethical thing to do. So like with all directions that I get from spirit I just go with it and ask no questions (well…maybe some).

As I have gotten more and more confident in the guidance given to my clients, through me, by spirit. I have come to find how to ethically (or what I believe is ethical) provide health and medical guidance.

Some common medical and health advice that may come through a reading:

Get a second opinion

Go get this or that checked out

Consult a holistic doctor

I am sensing you want to go the holistic route here but spirit is strongly advising Western medicine

Spirit is strongly advising you take the medication recommended by your doctor

Medication may not be the best option here, look into alternative solutions.

These are just generic themes of medical guidance you may hear during a reading. I have gotten more specific guidance based on my individual client but I always make sure to advise consulting a professional doctor before making any decisions. ALWAYS!!

In addition, I will not treat, diagnose or prescribe. My job is to just deliver the messages from spirit, nothing more and nothing less and I set up those expectations with a client right away.

To illustrate what this looks like I want to talk about a reading where I was asked for medical guidance.

One of my repeat clients came to me asking for medical guidance. She had recently had surgery and was having some complications causing her to worry. Her blood pressure would rapidly spike and drop and she said the doctors were still unsure what was wrong. She was about to be tested for vertigo and was being advised to get a CAT scan.

As I started to tune in I remembered in her previous reading that I told her the recovery from her surgery was going to be challenging but not to worry she was going to be fine. Spirit reminded her that this was happening to push her to slow down and rest which she was not doing.

Spirit then showed me that she did not have vertigo and they probably wouldn’t find anything on the CAT scan either. I relayed the message like this “I don’t feel like it’s vertigo and not seeing anything on the CAT scan but make sure to go get the scan and the test for vertigo to be sure.”

Spirit then showed me her medication bottles and I heard “check the medication.” I advised my client to consult her doctor about the medication she was taking and that I felt like her medications were off or she needed a different dosage.

Later that evening I received an email from my client. She let me know that it was not Vertigo and the doctor did find an infection to which he prescribed her a new medication for. She was relieved and thanked me for the guidance.

This was a beautiful validation from spirit that they are here to help guide us in all aspects of our lives, especially when it comes to health.

To close out I want to remind you that while readings can provide helpful guidance when it comes to health questions, they should not be used to treat, diagnose or prescribe. Always consult a qualified health care provider when seeking medical care.
